Mr. Sam Gao
Youth Intern
2018 - Present

Sam Gao grew up at FBCC. As a youth member, he was involved in various mission trips to China as well as being in the church’s worship team, playing piano and violin. At Rice University, Sam graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences. However, the greatest contribution from Rice was the student ministries that exposed him to the diverse body of Christ and the joy of serving in fellowship. After graduation, Sam decided to take up the position as Youth Intern during his gap year as he applies for medical schools. He has felt the Lord softening his heart for youth ministry and looks forward to living life with the youth. Though he understands he has a lot to learn about the issues and joys of this life stage, he is excited to see where God will use him to serve in FBCC’s youth congregation.

Sam is an amateur competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee player (ask him who his main character is). Challenge him if you dare! Besides video games, he is also an avid classical pianist and amateur insect biologist. He enjoys Japanese and Italian cuisine, but nothing beats a Whataburger.
